Winter Bliss…!?

This digi by Bugaboo is called “Stella Calendar Months – November.” As you know if you’ve been following me for any length of time, that Stella is my favorite Bugaboo character. I see myself in her!

This is my first project for the new “Bugaboo Crafty Challenge” over at Craftingcircle. It is a new monthly prize challenge for Bugaboo stamps projects and starts on the 15th of every month. Come over and check it out and join us.  It will be lots of fun and we’ll have some great prizes.

I wanted to use a paper that looked “cold” and I think this one was perfect. I printed the image several times and used the different layers to make a 3-D Card.  I find the fussy-cutting very hard, but I’m gonna keep practicing until it gets easier.  If anyone has any suggestions, please feel free to share them with me.

I colored her with Copic Markers and used a jar of Rowney White Watercolor Paint for the snow.  I also rubbed a little on the bottom part of the page to make the area look more like a snow bank. I got the affect of snow flakes by dipping the end of paint brush into the white paint and dabbing it on the card and the banner. Can’t you just see that snow piling up?

The paper is by Bo Bunny and called the “Altitude Collection.” It was from Hobby Lobby.   I’ve used Judi-Kins Diamond Glaze on her glasses and a cotton ball for her hand muff and the edge of her coat. Her earmuffs are a pink pom-pom cut in half.  I’m not sure where the one on her hat came from, but the Glass Icicles are from Joanns.

The sentiment is computer generated and the top border and Letter Banners are dies by Die-namics from My Favorite Things.  The Twine is from Hobby Lobby.

Thanks for stopping by.

Penguin Christmas….

I’m very pleased with how this card came out, especially since I wasn’t happy with my choice of colors. I love it when a card has such an unexpected “Happy Ending.”

The image is called “Penguin Willie Snow Day” and is by digital artist Janice Cullen Collyer and is on sale right now.  She has a really cute choice of Penguin images that are perfect for winter or Christmas Cards. You can find her images at the Scrapper’s Delight Digi Store.

The pattern paper was a scrap from a Disney Paper Pack from last year called “Disney All Seasons Mega Pad.” It covers all the holidays through-out the year and uses some very interesting color combos.

The dies I used are Wonky Ovals, Icicles, and Merry Christmas, which are all Die-namics by My Favorite Things. I covered the Icicle border with Zig “Wink of Stella” Clear Brush Glitter Pen, and I also dabbed some Ranger “Stardust Stickles” on the snowflakes.  I dotted the image and card with white watercolor paint to make it look like falling snow.
