…For One Of Your Smiles…MY MAMMIE! This is from the original 1927 version of the very first “Talkie” movie “The Jazz Singer” staring Al Jolson. I can remember watching it with my parents when I was a child and it was WAY old then. I much prefer the 1980 adaptation staring Neil Diamond.
This idea popped into my head when I first saw the new “Freebie Friday Progressive Challenge Image” from Janice Cullen Collyer of Scrapper’s Delight. If you did the last challenge, you can get this image free or you can buy it for $1.00 from the Scrapper’s Delight store HERE.
The image was colored with Copic Markers and the saying was computer generated. Card Base is by “The Paper Studio” from Hobby Lobby and the solid Card Stock is by “Recollections.” The Patterned Paper is by g.c.d. Studios. The hat and hand have been popped with Foam Dots, also from Hobby Lobby.
CHALLENGES I ENTERED:
“You Rule My HEART!!!!” That’s what popped into my head as soon as I saw the “New Freebie Friday Progressive Challenge“ digi stamp by Janice Cullen Collyer of Scrapper’s Delight. The image is called “Honey’s Ruler” and can be found here. Janice’s images are always a “delight” to color, but when I saw this image I also remembered that I had this “ruler” ribbon somewhere, and I thought it would work perfect. Now I just had to find it!
The thought of the yellow ribbon also brought to mind one of my favorite color combos of black, white, gray and yellow. What do you think? I think it worked great. I wanted the words to be a little “wonky” looking so although I printed them on the computer, I didn’t make an effort to cut them out evenly. Along with the image also comes two great digital sayings, one of which I used on the inside of my card. I think the recipient of the card will be very happy!
I don’t usually use a pre-made card base, but on this one I used a white base made by “The Paper Studio” from Hobby Lobby. The image is printed on “Copic X-Press It Blending Card” and colored with Copic Markers. The solid cardstock is from Recollections and the patterned paper is named “Black and White Ribbon Stripe” by Canvas Corp. The corners are the stitched die from a set of fantastic corner dies by My Little Paper World. The ribbon, rhinestone, and buttons were in my stash and are probably from Joanns or Michaels.

CHALLENGES I ENTERED:
Here’s my card for The “June Crafty Awesomeness Challenge” at The Crafting Circle.
I’m sure that we’ve all had days when we can identify with this “cutting-edge” image by digital artist Rick St. Dennis. This image is called “Bang Your Head Slowly” and can be found here at Zibbet.
I’ve colored the image with Copic Markers and used Prisma Colored Pencils for the eyes. The black and red colored cardstock is by Recollections. The checked paper is from the “Mother Goose” paper stack by Graphic 45, and the other patterned paper is called “Black Swirl Roses” by Recollections.
I also used a large Friskars Flower Punch and a small one made by E.K. Success. The small letters are a Die by Die-Namics from MFT. The large Alphabet Stickers are by Making Memories and must be at least 10 years old. The black and white stickers are “Thickers” by A.C. The rhinestones were in my stash.
