Lets Play Golf….

Our sponsor this month at the Crafting Circle’s Crafty Awesomeness Challenge is “Digital Stamps 4 Joy.” They were kind enough to provide us with two great stamps to use. Check out their web site here to see what else they have to offer. I also hope you’ll come and join us and maybe you’ll be this month’s winner.  So give it a try!

My first card makes a great card for any golfer in your circle of friends or family. You can find the image called “Golf Stuff” here. I colored the image with my Copic Markers and also used a few Prisma Colored Pencils to color the golf ball. When it came to choosing a patterned paper that would fit the idea I had for the card, which was for a male friend, I dug through my 6×6 paper stacks looking for ones that I felt would be appropriate.  The paper I chose was by Authentique and is called “Free Bird.” I just love how this paper stack combines these “Male” colors and uses lots of different patterns to keep the dark colors from being boring.

I topped the card off with taking some of my black embroidery thread and winding it around the first layer of the card and tying it into a bow.

LEGO Birthday….

This is my July DT Card for the “Crafty Awesomeness Challenge” at the Crafting Circle.  This adorable image is by the very talented artist, Francesca Lopez, owner of Cute As A Button Designs and is called Lego Queen.  It was the perfect image for me to work with having recently returned from a visit to “Lego Land.” Our family has always loved Legos, except when you step on them barefooted. Ouch!

I decided to make a birthday card from my image.  The card base is made with “The Paper Studio” Heavy Duty Cardstock bought at Hobby Lobby. The holographic background paper is from a D.C.W.V Paper Stack called, “The Birthday Wishes Stack.” The Balloons, Letters, and Words are cut from “Die-Namics” Dies by My Favorite Things.

I’ve colored my image with Copic Markers and a few Prisma Premium Colored Pencils. The solid colored papers are by Recollections from Michaels and the Embroidery Threads were in my stash and mainly from Joann Stores.

Please come and have some fun with us.
