It’s time again for the Freebie Friday Progressional Challenge at Scrapper’s Delights. For this go-round, Janice has chosen one of her adorable beach kids…Beach Babe 2. If you participated in our last challenge, you can get her here for FREE, or if you got our last image but did’t get to complete the challenge, you can buy her here for $1. Either way, please come and join us.
We were asked to use a special “twist” on the card of either “no patterned paper” or making a “shaped card.” I chose to do the “no patterned paper, and I must say that I really found it very challenging.
I was lucky enough to find this beautiful brown paper in my stash and thought it looked perfect for a sandy beach. I’ve had it for years and it’s by the Paper Co. I also used some scraps of different shades of blue card stock and tore strips and layered them to give the effect of waves.
The Cloud and Sun dies are from “Die-namics” by My Favorite Things, and both the Chair and the Umbrella are from “Memory Box.” The Umbrella and Fish are popped to look 3-D.
I’ve colored everything with my Copic Markers, and I also added a rhinestone from my stash for her earring.

CHALLENGES I’VE ENTERED:

This is an adorable Mermaid digital stamp done by artist Janice Cullen Collyer of Scrapper’s Delights and recently offered free in conjunction with Markers, Papers and Digis on their Facebook site.
By now you should all know how I feel about Mermaids…I love them, and this one is no exception. It was really fun to try to do something different with her.
I went through my old stack of 8-1/2 x 11 papers and found this underwater scene called Fish W/Whales by Masterpiece Studios. I don’t think I could have asked for a more perfect paper!
The image is colored with Copic Markers and highlighted with a White Prisma Pencil and a White Gelly Roll Pen. The inside of the clam shell is brushed with Wink of Stella Clear Glitter, and I also used Ranger’s “Star Dust” Stickles on her clothes and tail.
The “Happy Birthday” die is a Die-namic by MFT and the Branch and Seahorse dies are by Memory Box.
This is a card I made for the “Crafting Circle” monthly challenge. It’s a Just for Fun challenge and it really gets your juices flowing. Everyone is welcome, so please come and join us.
This digital stamp is from “A Day for Daisies” and I thought it was just perfect for the sketch I had to follow. I also hope to enter it into the ADFD Challenge Blog.
I colored the image with my Copic Markers, and I used a lot of Wink of Stella Clear Brush Pen on the little fairy and around the oval. The stitched oval and the fancy edged one are by Die-namics from My Favorite Things. All papers were from my scraps and the flowers and rhinestones are from my stash. The center of the flowers is done with a small punch from the $1 section at Michaels.
We were supposed to include a “Poem” on this card, but this is the best I could do. I know that if I had had my Cricut up and running, it probably would have been easy-peasy, but I didn’t. I made the little scroll and colored it with my markers.
Challenges I’ve Entered:
I’ve had this really cute image here for a while and I finally got to color it and get a card made. This is for a very special little girl who loves Unicorns! The image is by Janice Cullen Collyer of Scrapper’s Delights and is called “Ava Unicorn Pony.” This series of several different digital stamps can be found here.
I’ve colored the image with Prisma Pencils and Copic Markers. The stars are cut using an assortment of Star Dies made by “Die-namics” from My Favorite Things. I’ve also used Ranger “Stardust” Stickles on some of them and also around the Stitched Oval Die Cut, which is also by Die-namics. I topped it off with a little Rhinestone on her horn and more Stickles.
I made my card base from Heavy Duty Cardstock by “The Paper Studio” from Hobby Lobby and the Patterned background paper is from my scrap pile.
Wow, it’s hard to believe that the year is half over and it’s time to start on our Christmas cards. But don’t fret…just hop over to the new “Freebie Friday Progressive Challenge” at Scrapper’s Delights. This time Janice has picked a Christmas image called “Santa’s Helper” and if you completed last month’s image, you can get this image here for Free. If not, it will be available for $1 in the Scrapper’s Delights Store.
The Design Team was asked to make a card with this image using non-traditional Christmas Colors. It’s hard to be in a Christmas mood when the temperature outside is in the 90s, but this card sure helped me to start thinking about how soon all the holidays will be upon us. I for one am going to start picking out all of my images now so I can get my coloring started. I’m not sure what you do, but I like to make a special card for each person on my card list.
My card base is pre-made from “The Paper Studio” by Hobby Lobby, and the pattern papers are from “The Disney All Season’s” Pad. The blue and white paper is by TPC Studios and is named “Woodland Winter Carnaval.”
I colored the “Santa’s Helper” image with my Copic Markers, plus I added a few ornaments that I cut from a scrap of paper from my scrap pile. The branches are made with a Memory Box Die call “Pine Branches,” and I just cut them in several different colors and glued them down. The small red bow is made from my embroidery thread and I’ve also highlighted some things on the card with “Ranger’s Star Dust Stickles” and a “Wink of Stella Gold Brush Tip Glitter Pen.”
I’m not sure if my attempt to make a “fur rug” was successful or not, but I’ve had this swatch of fur/feathers from an after Christmas Sale at Hobby Lobby forever and I thought I’d give it a try.
